The “Many Caves” Problem: Why Brilliant AI Tools Can Still Make Work Worse

AIMAI CLIENT CASE STUDY

Kiss My Asana Goodbye

Building your own project software used to sound ridiculous. AI-assisted development has changed that calculation more than we expected.

We used Asana for years. Then we built our own project and client system and moved the whole of Everpro into it.

Five years ago, that would have sounded like a terrible idea. There are hundreds of perfectly good project management tools already, so why build another one?

What has changed is the effort involved in making software. AI-assisted development means a fairly ordinary business can now get much closer to “software that works the way we work” without starting a giant software project.

That does not mean everybody should rebuild Asana. We may yet discover we should not have done it either. But the old rule that bespoke software is automatically too expensive or complicated is worth questioning again.

For now, though: kiss my Asana goodbye.
