There is an awkward stage of AI adoption where every department discovers a brilliant tool and work somehow becomes more fragmented.
The meeting AI knows the meeting. The email AI knows the inbox. The CRM assistant knows the sales record. The reporting tool knows the numbers. Each one is clever inside its own little cave, but none of them necessarily knows what happened in the others.
Then a person becomes the integration layer, copying context from one clever system into another.
Before adding another AI tool, it is worth asking a boring question: where will what this tool learns actually live, and can the rest of the workflow use it?
A collection of brilliant caves is still a collection of caves.
